Iran’s acting FM meets with top Nepali diplomat in Tehran

Bagheri expressed appreciation for the sincere sentiments and condolences extended by Nepali authorities regarding the victims of the May copter crash in Iran.
He described the relations between the two countries as being on a positive trajectory and emphasized Iran’s readiness to enhance and strengthen cooperation with Nepal at bilateral, regional, and international levels.

Bagheri pointed to good bilateral cooperation capacities in the economic, commercial, and energy sectors, highlighting Iran’s excellent capabilities in providing technical and engineering services and establishing hydroelectric power plants.

He stressed that cooperation in these areas serves the interests of both countries.

Referring to the sensitive and critical conditions in the region and world, influenced by the crimes of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people, Bagheri emphasized the active role of independent Asian countries through frameworks and independent organizations such as ACD, BRICS, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in aligning with global public opinion against unilateralism.

Narayan Kaji Shrestha, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the visit to Iran and conveyed condolences and sympathy from the government and people of Nepal for the tragic incident resulting in the martyrdom of the President and Foreign Minister of Iran.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal pointed to numerous common grounds for developing bilateral relations in the trade and economic sectors, as well as within regional and international organizations such as the Asia Cooperation Dialogue, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the United Nations.
He emphasized the abundant potential for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including agriculture, hydroelectric power, and tourism, expressing Nepal’s readiness to utilize these potentials for the development of relations.

He further underscored Nepal’s approach of rejecting unilateralism as a solution to challenges and dilemmas, advocating for regionalism and multilateralism in international relations. Shrestha also emphasized supporting the right of the Palestinian people to determine their destiny, advocating for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations, calling for the cessation of war in Gaza, and sending humanitarian aid to the enclave.
