Iran’s acting FM meets with Uzbekistan’s first deputy FM

Bagheri stated that the current relations between the two countries are at a desirable level and that the two countries and nations have deep historical, civilizational, and cultural ties.
He expressed hope that by making greater use of the existing capacities, these relations would deepen and strengthen even more in the future.

Bagheri also emphasized the issue of Palestine as one of the most important regional and global issues. He added: “It is essential for Islamic countries to use international and regional capacities to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime and help the oppressed people of Palestine.”

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, in turn, praised the efforts of the late President and Foreign Minister of Iran in strengthening and enhancing the relations between the two countries. He emphasized that the government and people of Uzbekistan always stand alongside the government and people of Iran, adding that they are fully prepared to continue the path of development and expansion of relations in all bilateral areas, particularly in economic, commercial, and transit fields, as well as in regional and international forums.

He expressed satisfaction with the increase in trade volume between the two countries, highlighting the need to utilize other existing capacities between the two countries to further increase this volume, alongside strengthening people-to-people and cultural ties.

Both sides also emphasized the necessity of strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation in transit and corridor areas, enhancing regional stability and sustainable security, developing tourism and people-to-people connections, and reinforcing cultural ties between the two countries.
