The Chargé d'Affaires of the Pakistani embassy in Tehran was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the Director General of South Asia Department of the ministry in protest at Iran’s border encroachment.
The Director General of South Asia Department condemned the military action taken against the border residential areas that led to the death of nine Pakistani nationals - six children, two women and a man- living on the border, stating: “What was done in the anti-terrorist operation of the Sistan and Baluchistan border post was exactly against armed terrorists who were ready to cross the border for their criminal actions against citizens.”
The Director General of South Asia Department pointed to the good neighborliness policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the amicable relationship between Tehran and Islamabad.
He emphasized that Iran expects the government of Pakistan to fulfill its international and bilateral commitments regarding the fight against terrorism.
Pakistan's Chargé d'Affaires stated that he will convey the issues to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
