Iranian deputy foreign minister meets with Malian minister of foreign affairs
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari held a meeting with Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdoulaye Diop.
The two sides discussed the latest situation of commercial, economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries. Safari said, “Fortunately, the two countries’ Joint Economic Commission recently convened in Bamako, centered on the ministers of foreign affairs.The framework of cooperation in various fields was worked out and we are seriously following up on the approvals.” He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to strengthen its economic relations with the Muslim country of Mali. For his part, the top Malian diplomat appreciated Iran’s commitment to developing cooperation with African countries, including the promotion of brotherly relations between the people and governments of Mali and Iran. He said Mali is determined to expand all-out economic relations with Iran. The foreign minister praised the Islamic Republic’s progress and said the visit by the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s economic delegation to Bamako following the successful holding of the Joint Commission showed the two countries’ joint determination to develop and strengthen relations.
