Iranian FM highlights strengthening ties with Turkmenistan
.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi made the following remarks regarding his visit to Turkmenistan:
Neighboring countries are the top priority of our foreign policy, and these relations have become even more important under the current circumstances. Following the meeting between the presidents of the two countries on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit in Awaza, Turkmenistan, it was agreed that follow-up efforts would be undertaken on several projects.
Our relations with Turkmenistan are good. The two countries share numerous historical, cultural, familial, political and economic ties, and both have always demonstrated the political will to preserve and strengthen their relations.
Today's visit was also very productive. Detailed explanations were provided to the president and foreign minister of Turkmenistan regarding the latest regional developments, the negotiations, and the readiness of our armed forces. Subsequently, key economic projects between the two countries were reviewed, and important decisions were made regarding their implementation.
FM Araghchi: Iran ready for honest diplomacy, will not bow to pressure
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi made the following remarks regarding indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States:
Given the sensitivity of the current situation, consultations and diplomatic engagements have become very intensive. Qatar and Pakistan, as mediators, are playing a very active role. We have stated our conditions and presented our proposal, and everything depends on Washington's political rationality. If they choose honest diplomacy, we are ready to engage. But if they intend to resort to deception and military operations, they will face a response more bitter and severe than in the past.
Tehran's conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz are completely clear and transparent. If these conditions are accepted, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened and negotiations will resume. Otherwise, the current situation will continue, and Iran will not bow.
The consultations held by the Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council in Beijing were conducted within the framework of ongoing strategic communications with key partners. Broad regional developments, security issues, and matters related to peace and war were discussed.
