Iran Iraq FMs hold telephone conversation

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi in continuation of his consultations with the top diplomats of regional countries held a telephone conversation on Saturday evening with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in continuation of his consultations with the top diplomats of regional countries, held a telephone conversation on Saturday evening with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein.

 

In this conversation, the two sides reviewed bilateral Iran-Iraq relations and underlined the importance of continuing consultations at various levels to further expand ties in all areas of mutual interest between Tehran and Baghdad.

 

Araghchi and Hussein also discussed the latest regional developments. Iran’s foreign minister appreciatied the commitment of regional and neighboring countries — including Iraq — to peace and stability in the region and briefed his Iraqi counterpart on developments related to the indirect talks between Iran and the US.

Hussein thanked Araghchi for his explanations, stressing his country’s support for the ongoing diplomatic process between Iran and the US. He further expressed hope that the current talks will lead to desirable outcomes for Iran as well as for peace and stability in the region.
