The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, met on Tuesday evening with the Defense Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Khalid bin Salman, in Jeddah.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the growing trajectory of bilateral relations and exchanged views on the latest regional security developments following the military aggression by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran.
Foreign Minister Araghchi expressed satisfaction with the continuation of constructive consultations between the two countries in the security and defense fields.
He described Prince Khalid’s recent visit to Tehran as significant and effective in advancing bilateral cooperation aimed at strengthening regional stability and security.
The foreign minister condemned the Zionist regime’s military aggression against Iran and the attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities, calling it an unforgivable crime and an unprecedented assault on regional and global peace and security. He also thanked Saudi Arabia for its firm and responsible stance in condemning the attack.
Araghchi emphasized that the attacks against Iran are a consequence of the impunity granted to the occupying regime for its crimes against the Palestinian people and its continued aggression against other regional countries. He stressed the urgent need for regional states to strengthen indigenous security mechanisms in response to the dangerous expansionist policies of the Zionist regime.
Saudi Arabia’s defense minister reaffirmed his country's rejection and condemnation of the Zionist regime's military aggression against Iran and extended condolences over the martyrdom of Iranian military personnel and civilians during the aggressive attacks.
He further highlighted the grave consequences of the Zionist regime’s recent violations of international norms and stressed the need for enhanced regional cooperation to effectively confront destabilizing threats.
