Iranian Saudi foreign ministers meet in Jeddah

During the meeting, which took place on Tuesday evening in Jeddah, Iran’s foreign minister thanked the Saudi government for its excellent hosting of this year’s Hajj and for its valuable assistance in facilitating the return of Iranian pilgrims following the complications caused by the Zionist regime’s military aggression against Iran.
He emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to strengthen relations with Saudi Arabia in all areas of mutual interest.
Referring to the unified stance of regional and Islamic countries in condemning the military aggression of the Zionist regime and the US against Iran, Araghchi underlined the shared responsibility of regional countries to confront the threat posed by the Zionist regime’s expansionism and warmongering.
He also strongly condemned the continued killing and genocide of the Palestinian people, the ongoing occupation of Islamic lands, and the repeated attacks by the Zionist regime against Lebanon and Syria, taking place under the silence and inaction of the UN Security Council.
Araghchi identified this situation as the main driver of regional insecurity and asserted that the supporters and justifiers of the apartheid Zionist regime bear clear responsibility for its crimes.
The Saudi foreign minister, citing the principled position of his country and other regional states in condemning aggression and the violation of Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, stressed the need for greater efforts to prevent further escalation and declared Saudi Arabia’s readiness to assist in this regard.
