Irans new ambassador to Uruguay Mojtaba Bani Asad met with Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi before departing for his post.

Iran's new ambassador to Uruguay Mojtaba Bani Asad met with Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi before departing for his post.

During the meeting, Bani Asad outlined his plans and priorities for strengthening bilateral relations.

,Araghchi wished the new ambassador success in Montevideo and stressed the importance of Latin American countries in the foreign policy of Iran. He also underscored the need to boost relations and expand cooperation between Iran and Uruguay, particularly in political and economic fields.

Bani Asad previously served as advisor to Iran's foreign minister, head of the parliamentary assemblies department of Majles, and political counselor at the Iranian Embassy in Doha.
