Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Monday evening held a phone call with his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf on the latest regional developments following the military aggression of the Zionist regime against Iran. During the conversation, Attaf strongly condemned the attacks by the Zionist regime on the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing them as a blatant violation of the sovereignty of a UN member state, as well as a clear breach of international law and the UN Charter.

He underlined the importance of efforts by Islamic countries in international bodies and within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to condemn the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran’s sovereignty.

The Iranian foreign minister appreciated Algeria’s responsible stance and its important role in the UN Security Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He updated his Algerian counterpart on the latest related developments.

Araghchi underscored that the actions of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces against the Zionist regime are carried out within the framework of the right to self-defense against aggression targeting its sovereignty and territory in line with international law.

Araghchi said the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its attacks on nuclear facilities and residential areas, which have martyred a number of university professors, senior military officials, as well as innocent women and children, are a blatant violation of international law. All countries and international organizations, especially the UN Security Council, must explicitly condemn this aggression.
