Iranian Lebanese foreign ministers meet in Beirut

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi who is on a trip to Lebanon as part of his regional tour met with his Lebanese counterpart Youssef Rajji on Tuesday morning.

During their meeting, the two top diplomats discussed bilateral relations and key regional developments.

 

Araghchi highlighted the longstanding and positive ties between Iran and Lebanon and reaffirmed Iran’s readiness to expand ties in various sectors, including political, economic, and trade cooperation.

 

The Iranian foreign minister also reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s continued support for Lebanon’s independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

 

He also stressed Iran backs Lebanon’s government and people in their efforts to resist aggression and occupation by the Zionist regime and liberate occupied territories in the south of the country.

 

Rajji, in turn, acknowledged the deep respect of the Lebanese people for Iran’s rich history and civilization that span several thousand years and expressed Lebanon’s willingness to expand bilateral relations with Iran in various fields.
