Iran summons Austria’s Chargé d’Affaires in protest at misleading intelligence report about Tehran’s nuclear program

.

Following an unfounded claim concerning Iran’s peaceful nuclear program made in the annual assessment report of Austria’s intelligence agency, on Friday, May 30, 2025, Ms. Michaela Pacher, Chargé d’Affaires of the Austrian Embassy in Tehran (in the absence of the ambassador), was summoned to the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran by Director General for Western Europe Alireza Molla Ghadimi.

During the summoning session, Molla Ghadimi firmly rejected the claims in the Austrian intelligence report and pointed out the complete inconsistency of these allegations with numerous reports issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He stressed that Iran’s nuclear program is fully in line with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s legal and international obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Molla Ghadimi described the move by the Austrian intelligence agency to cast doubt on the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program without any basis or evidence as irresponsible and provocative.

He further demanded an official explanation from the Austrian government in this regard.

The Austrian Chargé d’Affaires said she would convey the Islamic Republic of Iran’s protest and request for an official explanation to her government.
