Iraq PM advisor meets with Iran deputy FM for political affairs

Hazem Al-Khalidi, an Adviser to the Prime Minister of Iraq, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Trade and the Head of the Federation of Industries of Iraq—who are visiting Tehran at the head of an economic and commercial delegation coinciding with the Seventh Iran Export Capabilities Exhibition (Iran Expo 2025)—met with Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Political Affairs.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views regarding bilateral issues and projects on the agenda of Iran-Iraq relations, as well as the latest regional and international developments.
The Adviser to the Prime Minister of Iraq presented a report on the latest status of joint dossiers and projects, particularly in infrastructure and transportation, and reaffirmed Iraq’s readiness to expand cooperation in all fields.
The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs referred to his recent visit to Iraq and expressed satisfaction with the mutual commitment to expanding bilateral relations. He emphasized that the deepening of relations with neighboring countries, especially the friendly and brotherly nation of Iraq, remains a top priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy.
Takht-Ravanchi underscored the necessity of diligent follow-up for the expedited and full implementation of all agreements concluded between Tehran and Baghdad, stating: “Given the political will of the high-ranking officials of both countries, we expect to witness tangible progress and completion of joint projects, particularly the Shalamcheh-Basra railway project
