Iran Saudi FMs discuss bilateral int’l developments on phone

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan had a phone conversation on Monday to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

 

 

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, had a phone conversation on Monday to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

 

At the beginning of the phone call, the Saudi foreign minister expressed regret over the tragic fire incident at Iran’s Shahid Rajaei Port, conveying Saudi Arabia’s condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the Iranian government and people. He also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

 

The Iranian foreign minister expressed gratitude for the messages of condolence from senior Saudi officials.

 

Araghchi outlined the Islamic Republic of Iran’s positions on regional developments, highlighting the escalating instability caused by the Zionist regime’s ongoing crimes in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as its repeated aggressions against Lebanon.

 

He called for global mobilization to stop the largest ongoing genocide of the century.

 

Furthermore, Araghchi briefed his Saudi counterpart on the latest progress in indirect Iran-US negotiations.
