The spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baqaei, has strongly condemned the brutal US airstrike on the port of Ras Issa in Yemen, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of innocent Yemeni civilians and the destruction of the port.
The spokesperson described the US airstrikes against Yemen as a clear example of aggressive crimes and a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law.
He emphasized that America’s aggression against Yemen – carried out in full support of the Zionist regime’s occupation and genocide in Palestine – has turned the US into an accomplice and partner in Israel’s crimes in Palestine and the region.
Baqaei warned that the continuation of US military aggression against Yemen, the destruction of its vital infrastructure, and the killing of its Muslim population not only emboldens the Zionist regime to persist in its crimes in Gaza and the West Bank but also exacerbates regional instability and threatens international peace and security.
Extending condolences to the Yemeni nation and government on the martyrdom of its citizens, the foreign ministry spokesperson reaffirmed the solidarity of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the resilient Yemeni people.
He called for an end to the inaction and silence of the international community in the face of the US’s grave violations of international law and human rights against the Yemeni people and reminded Islamic countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) of their responsibilities in this regard
