Iran Egypt FMs hold phone conversation on bilateral regional issues

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran and his Egyptian counterpart discussed regional developments particularly the situation in Palestine and Gaza as well as bilateral relations in a phone call.

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty discussed regional developments, particularly the situation in Palestine and Gaza, as well as bilateral relations in a phone call.

The Iranian foreign minister pointed to Egypt's stance in supporting the legitimate rights of the oppressed Palestinian people.

Araghchi described the forced displacement plan of the Palestinian people from Gaza as a colonial conspiracy to eliminate Palestine and a serious threat to regional stability and security.

The Iranian foreign minister noted that the illegal plan of the US president regarding Gaza has faced strong opposition from various countries and emphasized the need for a unified and decisive stance by Islamic countries to counter the conspiracy against the fate of the Palestinian people.

Araghchi called for an urgent meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss and decide on the matter.

The Egyptian foreign minister, outlining his country's diplomatic efforts and positions in supporting the legitimate rights of Palestinians and ensuring the implementation of a ceasefire agreement to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and rebuild Gaza, rejected the forced displacement of the people of Gaza as unacceptable.

Welcoming the proposal to hold an emergency meeting of the OIC, Abdelatty emphasized the need for extensive consultations among Islamic countries on the issue.
