Iran’s spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the U.S. State Department’s decision to label the Yemeni people and place Ansarullah on its so-called list of foreign terrorist organizations—a move aimed at justifying inhumane sanctions against the Yemeni nation.
Esmail Baqaei described this action as baseless, unjustified, and in clear violation of international law.
Baqaei highlighted the honorable solidarity of the Yemeni people with the oppressed Palestinians in their struggle against the occupation and genocide perpetrated by the Zionist regime. He further characterized the U.S. State Department’s labeling of the Yemeni people as a continuation of the previous U.S. administration’s 15-month complicity in the massacre and genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
Baqaei emphasized that such unilateral, arbitrary, and unfounded actions only serve to further undermine the rule of law in international relations and pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
