Iran FM meets with Japan’s senior deputy foreign minister

Takehiro Funakoshi Senior Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan who is visiting Tehran for consultations with officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran on bilateral relations and regional developments met this Sunday afternoon with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

Takehiro Funakoshi, Senior Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan, who is visiting Tehran for consultations with officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran on bilateral relations and regional developments, met this Sunday afternoon with Iranian Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

During the meeting, Funakoshi highlighted the longstanding and friendly relations between Iran and Japan. He stressed the importance of continuing consultations to enhance bilateral ties and contribute to the resolution of regional and international issues.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, in turn, welcomed the consultations with Japan on bilateral relations and regional as well as international matters. Araghchi emphasized the importance of sustained dialogue in light of recent developments in the region, particularly Syria.
He also underscored the shared concerns of the two countries regarding stability and lasting security in the region.
