Iranian FM Hamas officials discuss regional developments
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is currently in Qatar for the Doha talks, met on Saturday evening with the head of the Political Council of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, Muhammad Ismail Darwish, and several members of the leadership council and the political bureau of the movement.
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is currently in Qatar for the Doha talks, met on Saturday evening with the head of the Political Council of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, Muhammad Ismail Darwish, and several members of the leadership council and the political bureau of the movement.
They discussed the latest regional developments, especially the situation in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the ongoing genocide and aggressions of the Zionist regime during the meeting.
Presenting a report on his recent regional trips and discussions, Araghchi reiterated, “The principled approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the people and resistance of Palestine and Lebanon against the Zionist regime's occupation and aggressions will strongly continue.”
The Iranian foreign minister also touched on the current developments in Syria and noted, “The main objective of the Zionist regime is to divert the attention of the region and the world from the focal point of the crisis, namely the genocide in Gaza and the continued aggressions against Lebanon and repeated ceasefire violations.
The head of Iran's diplomatic service shed light on the serious dangers regarding the developments in Syria, warning if the current situation in country is not controlled, it will become a haven and center for terrorist groups' activities, and none of the regional countries will be safe from the consequences of chaos and insecurity in Syria.
Meanwhile, the president of Hamas’s Political Council provided a report on the latest situation in the occupied Palestinian territories in Gaza and the West Bank and the ongoing genocide and aggressions by the Zionist regime, as well as the negotiations for establishing a ceasefire.
He appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s all-out support for the Palestinian people and resistance and stressed that the Hamas movement and other resistance factions are determined to fight against the Zionist occupation until the Palestinian people’s rights are completely restored.
Darwish emphasized the movement's support for Syria's national sovereignty and territorial integrity and the need to maintain Syria's position in the axis of resistance against Zionist-American plots, expressing hope that the current problems in Syria will be resolved through dialogue.
