Esmaeil Baghaei offered condolences to the government and people of Syria and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement as well as the families of the martyrs and wished swift recovery for the wounded. Baghaei added that expansion of the acts of aggression and crimes by the Zionist regime to neighboring countries and Israel's repeated gross violations of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic constitute a blatant aggression and it is necessary that the UN Security Council take immediate action to stop this aggressive act and hold the Israeli regime to account.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman warned of dire consequences if the Zionist regime continues its aggression against the civilian infrastructure of Syria and the massacre of innocent people including women and children.
Baghaei condemned such acts as a clear violation of the international humanitarian laws and an example of war crime. He noted that under the 1949 Geneva Convention, all governments have a duty to stop the acts of aggression and go after those who orchestrate and perpetrate the crimes.
Baghaei also said that those who supply arms to the Zionist regime are an accomplice in its crimes, underlining that the people of the region and the Muslim ummah recognize the US as the biggest arms supplier and political supporter of the Zionists and an accomplice in their crimes.
