An explanatory session led by Majid Takht-Ravanchi Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs was held with the presence of ambassadors chargé d’affaires heads of foreign diplomatic missions and representatives of United Nations offices and other international organizations based in Tehran at the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

An explanatory session led by Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, was held with the presence of ambassadors, chargé d’affaires, heads of foreign diplomatic missions, and representatives of United Nations offices and other international organizations based in Tehran at the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The purpose of the session was to elucidate the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the recent military operation against the occupying and apartheid regime of Israel.

The Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs expressed gratitude to the ambassadors and heads of missions present at the meeting. Takht-Ravanchi described Iran’s recent operation against the Israeli apartheid regime as necessary and proportionate, emphasizing that it was conducted within the framework of the inherent right to self-defense as outlined in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. He reiterated that the operation was executed to prevent further malevolence from the Zionist regime against Iran, and it was carried out after two months of restraint, following the evident inaction of the United Nations Security Council in addressing the regime’s aggressions.
He stressed: “The operation was entirely proportional to the regime’s continued hostilities.”

Takht-Ravanchi further highlighted the extensive use of weapons of mass destruction and prohibited arms, including U.S.-made bunker-buster bombs, by the Israeli aggressive military against civilian and residential targets in Lebanon.
He condemned these as another layer of war crimes and genocide perpetrated by the terrorist regime, adding that they resulted in the horrific deaths of hundreds of innocent Lebanese citizens and severe injuries and burns to tens of thousands more, and the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the beloved leader and Secretary-General of Hezbollah, along with several prominent political figures of the party, and Iran’s esteemed military advisor General Abbas Nilforoushan, a guest of the Lebanese people.

Takht-Ravanchi praised the figure of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Hezbollah Movement, describing them as an inseparable part of the Lebanese people. He emphasized: “Hezbollah’s weapons and the broader resistance are a natural response to the Zionist regime’s occupation and aggressions. As long as this occupation and threat to Lebanon’s territory persist, the legitimate right of armed resistance for self-defense and accountability remains a fundamental right of the Lebanese people.”
The Islamic Republic of Iran, Takht-Ravanchi assured, has always supported and will continue to support Lebanon’s government, people, and resistance under any circumstances.

In conclusion, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to respond to any further acts of aggression or terrorism by the Israeli regime. He warned: “Should the regime commit another violation against Iran’s sovereignty, national security, or its interests, properties, or citizens, the Israeli regime will immediately face a decisive and forceful response.”
He went on to say that the response will be as crushing and eye-opening as the operations “True Promise I and II,” during which Iran’s Armed Forces successfully targeted and destroyed Israeli military, intelligence, and security facilities.
