The Netherlands’ Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp, in a phone conversation on Wednesday with his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi, congratulated him on his appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and wished him success.
Noting that his country is concerned about the escalating crisis in West Asia, the Dutch foreign minister called on all parties to exercise restraint and prevent the spread of tension.
Veldkamp said, “The Netherlands hopes that the cycle of violence and tension in the region will stop and the delivery of humanitarian aid and ending of the suffering of the Palestinian people will be materialized.”
For his part, the Iranian foreign minister thanked his Dutch counterpart and said that Iran and the Netherlands can expand their ties based on mutual respect.
On the developments in West Asia, the head of Iran’s diplomatic service emphasized that the war against the people of Gaza should immediately stop.
Araghchi added that the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks to de-escalate the tension in the region, but the Zionist regime’s killing machine is spreading regional violence and tension.
