Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri had a phone conversation with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, regarding the criminal act by the usurping Zionist regime in martyring Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political bureau, who was in Tehran as a guest.
Bagheri, while offering condolences on the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh to the Islamic Ummah, stated: "The Zionist regime has openly committed a criminal act against the Islamic Ummah, the countries of the region, the Palestinian nation, and the Islamic Republic of Iran by martyring him."
Bagheri emphasized: "Ismail Haniyeh was an official guest of the Islamic Republic of Iran, alongside representatives from more than eighty other countries worldwide, at the president's inauguration ceremony. With this criminal act, the Zionist regime has violated Iran's national security and breached regional and international peace and security."
He added: "This heinous act must be condemned by all countries."
The head of Iran's diplomatic apparatus stressed: "The Islamic Republic of Iran will not forgo its legitimate and inherent right to take reciprocal action against the clear crime of the Zionist occupation regime and will firmly defend its national security and territorial integrity."
Bagheri, highlighting the necessity of a response from Islamic countries to the martyrdom of a prominent Palestinian leader and the violation of Iran's national security, noted: "It is essential that an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation at the level of Foreign Ministers be held as soon as possible to condemn the vile act of the Zionist occupation regime and counter the terrorist aggression of the fake Zionist regime."
The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, while expressing condolences on the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, welcomed the convening of an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to condemn the criminal actions of the Zionist regime, adding: "The Zionist regime knows no boundaries in carrying out its criminal actions."
He further stated: "Haniyeh was an unparalleled figure in the Islamic world, and his loss is a great tragedy for the Islamic Ummah."
The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar reiterated: "Qatar once again condemns this criminal act of martyring Haniyeh while he was an official guest of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
