IAEA Chief Rafael Grossi meets with Iranian deputy FM Ali Bagheri

Rafael Grossi who is visiting Iran to participate in the International Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and chief negotiator in sanctions removal talks Ali Bagheri.

 

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi who is visiting Iran to participate in the International Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology, met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and chief negotiator in sanctions removal talks Ali Bagheri. 

In the meeting, different aspects of cooperation between Iran and the IAEA were discussed and the two sides exchanged views over the issue. 

While pointing out the importance of cooperation between Iran and the agency, Bagheri stressed the necessity of impartiality and professionalism of the UN atomic oversight body as a specialized organization. 

He also said the peaceful nuclear activities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are always within the framework of its international obligations, including the Non-Proliferation Treaty.  

IAEA chief Rafael Grossi, in turn, described his trip to Tehran as a sign of the agency’s will to maintain a constructive atmosphere in its relations with Tehran
