FM Amirabdollahian: Iranians abroad stand up for Irans pride

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian chaired a meeting of the Coordination Council of the heads of specialized working groups of the Supreme Council of Iranians Abroad on Wednesday evening.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian chaired a meeting of the Coordination Council of the heads of specialized working groups of the Supreme Council of Iranians Abroad on Wednesday evening.

 The secretaries of the working groups and representatives of the relevant ministries and institutions, as well as the chair of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee attended the meeting at the Foreign Ministry.

 The secretaries of the specialized working groups of the supreme council started the meeting by presenting reports on their efforts and measures to follow up on implementation of the previous ratifications as well as their goals and plans for the future.

 Amirabdollahian commemorated Martyr Morteza Motahhari and the National Teachers’ Day.

 He expressed gratitude to the chair of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Vahid Jalalzadeh, for finalizing a bill in support of the Iranians abroad and introducing it to the parliament.

 Amirabdollahian stated that tackling the problems and providing constant support for the Iranians in other countries are among the major concerns of the government and the president constantly emphasizes on it.

 He also stressed on the need to establish two-way communication with Iranians abroad, including through digital media.

 Meanwhile, the president’s deputy at the Supreme Council of Iranians highlighted the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s tactful and firm decision to ensure maximum national security.

 He said, “Operation True Promise, which was carried out within the framework of legitimate defense, caused pride and solidarity among Iranian fellow citizens and those living in other countries and created a favorable opportunity for the empathy of Iranians across the world.”

 The Iranian foreign minister said the Iranians have widely welcomed travelling to the country, adding it is a positive outcome of the coordination between members of the Supreme Council of Iranians and the related institutions.

 He said, “The few Iranians who are worried about their travel to Iran under the influence of hostile media, can log on to the foreign ministry’s website at porsesh.mfa.ir and make sure that their trip to the country would be trouble-free.”

 The foreign minister appreciated the efforts by the speaker of the parliament, the lawmakers and the National Security Committee as well as the faction of Iranians abroad for their efforts, adding approving the comprehensive law in supporting the Iranians in the parliament’s open session was a strategic and important move that will be enacted in the near future.

 For his part, Jalalzadeh lauded the foreign ministry for handling the issues related to Iranians overseas, and asserted that the parliament is firm in supporting the Iranian citizens in the other countries.

 Furthermore, the secretaries of the Supreme Council of Iranian Affairs’ working groups presented a briefing on their measures and future plans.

 Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary, and Iranian Expatriates Alireza Bigdeli and the Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Iranian Abroad Abdollah Sohrabi said the meeting was aimed at setting the agenda for an upcoming meeting of the council scheduled to be chaired by the president.
