Iranian FM holds telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart

In the wake of the brutal attack by the Zionist regime on Monday afternoon against the consular section of Iran’s Embassy in Damascus Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad contacted top Iranian diplomat Hossein Amirabdollahian.

The two foreign ministers discussed the different aspects of this crime in their telephone conversation.

The Syrian Foreign Minister condemned the murderous attack by the Zionist regime in the strongest terms and described it as a gross violation of the international rules, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961. 

Amirabdollahian also thanked the Syrian foreign minister for visiting the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus, saying Netanyahu has completely lost his mental balance due to the successive failures of the Zionist regime in Gaza and its failure to achieve the ambitious goals of the Zionists.

Amirabdollahian described the attack on the Iranian consulate section in Damascus as a violation of all international obligations and conventions and blamed the consequences of this action on the Zionist regime.

He stressed the need for a serious response by the international community to such criminal actions.
