Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met with his Lebanese counterpart Abdullah Bu Habib in Beirut.

Amirabdollahian voiced pleasure with the meeting and thanked lebanon and its foreign minister for condemning the recent terrorist attack in the Iranian city of Kerman.

He further appreciated Lebanon’s and its top diplomat’s robust support for the Palestinian cause and the resistance.

While stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran opposes any expansion of the war in the region, Amirabdollahian said that Netanyahu and the Zionist regime seek their survival in expanding the war.

He added the US government, despite claiming that it’s opposed to the expansion of the war, fully supports the Israeli regime and has not stopped sending weapons to the Israeli regime for even a single day.

The Iranian foreign minister noted that all sides must respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He referred to Lebanon's internal issues, saying, “We are confident that Lebanon's political leaders have sufficient intelligence and wisdom to resolve their country's internal problems, and Iran supports any Lebanese decision in this regard”.

Amirabdollahin stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran wants nothing but good for Lebanon.

The Lebanese foreign minister also said he was pleased to meet Amirabdollahian, describing bilateral ties between Tehran and Beirut as friendly and brotherly.

Given the importance of issues of mutual interest and regional developments, Bu Habib underscored the need for continued meetings and consultations between the two sides.

He said all the Lebanese unanimously support the rights and security of Lebanon along its geographical borders.

Bu Habib further spoke about Palestine, saying Lebanon’s clear position is that an immediate ceasefire must be established in Gaza and the Zionist regime must stop attacks against the region. The Lebanese foreign minister also said humanitarian aid must also be sent into Gaza for Palestinians living there immediately.

The top Iranian and Lebanese diplomats also exchanged views over issues pertaining to bilateral cooperation between the two sides during this meeting.
