Iran, Russia FMs talk on phone, discuss Palestine
Iranian Foreign Minister and his counterpart from the Russian Federation discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in a phone conversation.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his counterpart from the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in a phone conversation.
During the phone talk, the top Iranian diplomat touched upon the Zionist regime’s relentless strikes against civilians, adding, “The United States claims to be seeking an end to the war, but in practice, it escalates the intensity and spreads the sphere of the American-Zionist war.”
Amirabdollahina added the martyrdom of more than 15,000 civilians, including women and children, and the massacre of dozens of hostages in the Gaza Strip are the fallout from the Israeli regime’s blind bombardments and its ongoing attacks.
The Iranian foreign minister described as important efforts to prevent the ethnic cleansing and forced migration of residents in Gaza and the West Bank, stressing the necessity of Russia playing a more active role in establishing peace and security in the region.
“Indubitably, resistance will determine the final outcome,” he noted.
The Russian foreign minister, in turn, said he was disappointed with the Zionist regime’s refusal to stop its attacks.
Lavrov highlighted the need to continue consultations to put an end to the war and free the hostages.
The two sides also discussed some bilateral issues.
