FM Amirabdollahian meets Ayatollah Alam al-Hodi in Mashhad

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, who is in the shrine city of Mashhad, met and talked with Ayatollah Alam al-Hodi, the revered representative of the Leader in the Khorasan Razavi Province and the Friday prayers leader of the city on Thursday.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister presented a report on the measures taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of foreign policy and the latest related developments.

 

Amirabdollahian also talked about the latest developments in expansion of cooperation with the region, neighbors and other areas.

 

Considering the potential of pilgrimage diplomacy and the “blessing of Imam Reza’s presence” in Iran, the foreign minister highlighted the measures taken by the diplomatic service in facilitating pilgrimage tourism.

 

Meanwhile, Ayatollah Alam al-Hodi welcomed Amirabdollahian and pointed to the successful moves by the government in the field of bilateral and international relations, and touched on the good planning by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard and called it a “source of pride”.

 

In another part of his comments, Ayatollah Alam al-Hodi appreciated the representative office of the Foreign Ministry in Mashhad for its activities and praised its important role in the development of international cooperation in the province, and demanded extra attention for solving certain problems and facilitating the movement of Imam Reza’s pilgrims.

 

Furthermore, the Foreign Minister thanked Mohammad Beheshti Monfared, the outgoing head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ representative office in Khorasan Razavi, for his efforts and introduced Ahmad Masoumi-Far as his successor.

 

Masoumi-Far said he was pleased to be in Mashhad and took it as an opportunity to serve the pilgrims of  Imam Reza. He also expressed hope that the high capacities of the Khorasan Razavi Province in the fields of economy, culture and pilgrimage will be actualized under the aegis of the respected religious representative to boost the development of the province and the living conditions of the noble people of Khorasan.
