Secretary General of Asian Cooperation Dialogue meets with Iranian FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has met with Pornchai Danvivathana, Secretary-General of Asian Cooperation Dialogue.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has met with Pornchai Danvivathana,  Secretary-General of Asian Cooperation Dialogue. During the meeting, Amirabdollahian thanked Pornchai Danvivathana for his efforts and reassured him that the Islamic Republic of Iran will do its best to promote cooperation and achieve the goals of the organization during Iran's upcoming presidency of the ACD.

He also stressed the importance of the role of the body’s secretariat in supporting the furthering of cooperation, declaring Tehran’s readiness to help strengthen the secretariat based in Kuwait as well as the Cultural Cooperation Center of the ACD based in Tehran. Pornchai Danvivathana for his part gave Amirabdollahian a report on the activities of the ACD and briefed him on the arrangements underway in preparation for the meeting of the foreign ministers of the organization on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York, after which the one-year presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the ACD will start. Pornchai Danvivathana expressed hope that during Iran’s presidency , effective measures will be taken including the implementation of the 10-year prospect document of the ACD.
