During his visit to Beirut, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdolalhian on Thursday noon met with MPs from different Lebanese factions at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lebanon. The Lebanese lawmakers described the meeting and the invitation of the MPs from different factions with diverse views as a positive initiative and a step towards boosting relations between Iran and Lebanon.
They welcomed the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia to resume their bilateral relations, noting the fact that this cooperation will have a positive impact on all countries in the region including Lebanon.
Among other issues, the Lebanese parliamentarians further outlined the situation and developments in Lebanon.
After listening to the points of view of the lawmakers from various Lebanese political factions, Amirabdollahian outlined the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia and its positive implications for the region, the stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Lebanon and related developments based on inviting all the Lebanese parties to a dialog to solve existing problems in Lebanon, particularly the election of the country’s president.
The top Iranian diplomat described the Islamic Republic of Iran as a friend of Lebanon in difficult times and underlined Tehran’s readiness to help resolve Lebanon’s problems.
