Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the imposition of sanctions against some individuals and institutions under the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the imposition of sanctions against some individuals and institutions under the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the decisions of the relevant authorities and within the framework of relevant rules and sanctions mechanisms, subjects the following institutions and individuals under the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom, to sanctions, due to their deliberate actions in support of terrorism and terrorist groups; promotion and incitement of terrorism, violence; and spreading hatred, which has caused riots, violence and terrorist operations as well as violation of human rights against the Iranian nation:

The following institutions are subject to the sanctions:

  1. Royal Air Force Menwith Hill, British Intelligence Base in Yorkshire;
  2. UK Naval Support Facility (NSF) Based in Mina Salman port, Bahrain;
  3. British Committee for Iran Freedom (BCFIF);
  4. The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.

The following individuals are subject to the sanctions:

  1. Robert Jenrick, Minister of State for Immigration;
  2. Admiral Sir Antony David Radakin, UK Chief of Defense Staff;
  3. Air Marshal Martin Elliot Sampson, UK Defense Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa;
  4. Kenneth Douglas McCallum, Director General of MI5;
  5. Phil Husband, Governor of HM Prison, Durham;
  6. Steve Kilvington, Assistant Head Capability Strategy at UK Ministry of Defence;
  7. John Francis Spellar, Deputy of Labor Friends of the Zionist Regime (LFI) at the House of Commons;
  8. Lord David Alton, Crossbench Member of the House of Lords;
  9. Matthew Offord, Member of Parliament from the Conservative Party;
  10. David Jones, Member of Parliament from the Conservative Party;
  11. Wayne David, Member of Parliament from the Labor Party;
  12. Mark Williams, former Member of the British Parliament;
  13. Geoffrey Bindman, Chair of the British Institute of Human Rights.

The above sanctions include the ban in issuing visas and the impossibility of the above mentioned persons᾿ entry into the Islamic Republic of Iran and the confiscation of their property and assets in the territory under the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran. All institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to the decisions of the relevant authorities, will take the necessary measures to implement these sanctions.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, reminding the commitments of the United Kingdom, considers any support, facilitation and failure to take action against these persons and institutions, to be a violation of the international obligations of the United Kingdom and holds them responsible and accountable.
