Iranian top nuclear negotiator and Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri has arrived in the Hungarian capital Budapest at the start of a tour that takes him to several European countries. On the first day of his visit, Bagheri met with Hungary's Deputy Foreign Minister for Security and Energy Policy Péter Sztáray.

Bagheri pointed to last year's visit to Tehran by Hungary's minister of foreign affairs and trade and the holding of the second session of the joint economic commission of the two countries in the Iranian capital. He said the firm determination of Iranian and Hungarian officials to strengthen bilateral ties is a strong support for the businesspeople of the two countries to expand bilateral trade and economic ties.

Bagheri further spoke about the conflict in Europe and reaffirmed Iran's policy to oppose war. He said the Islamic Republic of Iran has suffered heavy losses during the 8-year imposed war and has been under sanctions for 4 decades. Bagheri added that Iran rejects war as it kills human beings indiscriminately and at the same time deplores sanctions because such measures punish human beings indiscriminately as well.

The top Iranian nuclear negotiator in other remarks referred to the latest developments in the sanctions removal talks. He said Tehran believes that the readiness of the other sides to give sustainable assurances will result in reaching a deal swiftly and their sticking by their commitments will guarantee the preservation of the agreement.
