President in response to the phone call of Armenian PM: Planning to increase the level of sustainable Tehran-Yerevan economic cooperation imperative
The President stated, "Iran does not accept any changes in the political geography of the region and is ready to use all its capacities to establish peace and stability in the Caucasus region and its growth and development".
In response to the phone call of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi described the relations between the two countries as historical and deep, and emphasised the necessity of planning to increase the level of sustainable economic cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan.
Referring to the conflicts of the past days in the Caucasus, the President said, "The adherence of the signatories of the tripartite ceasefire statement to its provisions and the resolution of the remaining issues through dialogue and diplomatic solutions is the best way to create peace and security in the Caucasus".
Referring to the strategic statements of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution in the recent meeting with the Presidents of Russia and Turkey regarding the sensitivity of the Islamic Republic of Iran to its borders in the Caucasus region and opposing any attempt to change them, he clarified, "Iran will not accept any change in the political geography of the region and is ready to use all its capacities to establish peace and stability in the Caucasus and its growth and development".
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also gave a detailed report on the recent conflicts between Armenia and Azerbaijan in this telephone conversation.
The Prime Minister of Armenia also expressed his satisfaction with the development of Tehran-Yerevan relations and emphasised his country's readiness to facilitate the transit of goods between the two countries and to increase cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, including road and energy.
