DLA convenes meeting at Iranian Foreign Ministry

The first meeting of the Diplomatic Ladies Association of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DLA) chaired by Mrs. Amir Abdollahian, the wife of the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, was held at the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

The meeting, which was held on the eve of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadeq (AS), was attended by the wives of the deputy ministers as well as a group of wives of ambassadors and managers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The chairmen of the subcommittees of the association as well as some active members reviewed the activities of the association during the previous periods. They also described some of the activities, including training classes, visits, lectures, family and religious counseling, and the establishment of a charity bazaar, as well as joint programs with the Association of spouses of diplomats in the Islamic Republic of Iran (DLG). Given that the new period of the association's activity has begun, they made some suggestions based on the needs and interests of the members.
In this meeting, Mrs. Amir Abdollahian referred to the hiatus in activities of the association due to the conditions caused by the Covid pandemic. She expressed hope that the association will be able to resume its activities in person in line with other collective efforts after the completion of the vaccination process in Iran.
She thanked the participants for expressing their opinions and describing the activities nearly three decades following the association's establishment, and described the process of actions and programs as increasing and in accordance with the new needs. The wife of the foreign minister appreciated the efforts of the wives of top Iranian diplomats. She, as the president of the Diplomatic Ladies Association, expressed hope that in the new term, with consensus and collective cooperation, the association will continue its activities with vigor and dynamism and new programs will be added to its activities.
It was also decided to hold the first joint meeting with the Association of spouses of diplomats in Iran (DLG) and the inauguration ceremony of the new president of the Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Ladies Association in the first appropriate schedule in full compliance with Covid health protocols.
