Ayatollah Raisi while receiving the credentials of the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka:

No obstacles for development of ties with Sri Lanka/ Emphasis on taking new steps in developing economic, trade relations

Referring to the potential for development of relations between Iran and Sri Lanka, the President said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to activate all capacities for cooperation between the two countries."

Speaking on Sunday after receiving the credentials of the new Sri Lankan ambassador to Tehran, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said, "There are no restrictions or obstacles to the development of economic and trade relations and the transfer of experience, especially in the technical and engineering fields between the two countries".
The President added, "With the activation of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between the two countries, new steps can be taken in the development of Iran-Sri Lanka relations, especially in the economic field".
While presenting his credentials to Ayatollah Raisi, the new ambassador of Sri Lanka to Tehran described the relations between the two countries long-standing and historical and said, "Sri Lanka has always been -and will always be- a supporter of the Iranian government and people in international forums”.
He also called for the development and strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the energy, trade and trade sectors, referring to the potential for developing the level of bilateral relations.
