President felicitates Turkey on national day

In a message congratulating the National Day of the Republic of Turkey, the President stressed the importance of protecting the bilateral relations between the two major neighbouring countries in the current international situation and the spread of coronavirus in the world, and wrote, "Health and trade cooperation are a higher priority".

President Hassan Rouhani's message is as follows:

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

His Excellency Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan,

Honourable President of Turkey,

I sincerely congratulate Your Excellency and the honourable people of your country on the National Day of the Republic of Turkey. 

I take the co-occurrence of the anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Turkey and the twelfth of Rabi al-Awal month, which is the blessed birthday of the Holy Prophet of Islam Mohammad Mustafa (PBUH), as a good omen and wish good luck and blessings to the Turkish nation.

Considering the cultural and historical ties between the two Iranian and Turkish nations, I hope that the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries will be further strengthened in the present era and that the existing capacities for cooperation in various political, economic, scientific and health fields will be identified and paid attention by the two countries.

In the current international situation and the spread of coronavirus in the world, the protection of bilateral relations between the two major neighbouring countries is of great importance, where health and trade cooperation are a higher priority.

I wish Your Excellency health and success, and the people of the Republic of Turkey prosperity and felicity.
