Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Cho Hyun, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea, met and held talks on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.The two sides exchanged views on Tehran-Seoul bilateral relations and ways to strengthen ties and cooperation. They also discussed developments in West Asia and on the Korean Peninsula.The Iranian Foreign Minister, referring to the insecurity imposed on the Strait of Hormuz as a result of the aggressive actions of the United States and the Israeli regime, stressed the importance of a responsible and realistic approach by all countries and avoiding any action that could be construed as contributing to the illegal and aggressive activities of the United States in the region.During the meeting, the two foreign ministers also signed a memorandum of understanding on the transfer of sentenced persons between the two countries.
