Esmail Baghaei, Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, told reporters that Bafel Talabani, president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), will visit Tehran on Tuesday. According to the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Talabani’s visit, which is being made at the invitation of Iran’s Foreign Minister, is taking place within the framework of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ongoing consultations with the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq aimed at expanding bilateral relations and strengthening peace and stability in the region. The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said that during the visit, the president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will hold talks and exchange views with senior Iranian officials on issues of mutual interest, including matters related to economic cooperation and border security.
