Mohammad Basraei, the newly appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan, Russia, met with Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi prior to his departure for his new post and presented his proposed plan for advancing affairs in his new position.The Foreign Minister wished the new Iranian Consul General in Kazan success and, referring to the importance of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia, stressed the need to work toward strengthening relations with the Republic of Tatarstan and other republics and regions in Russia’s Volga area in all fields of mutual interest, particularly in the economic, tourism, academic and consular sectors.Prior to his appointment as Iran’s Consul General in Kazan, Basraei served as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ treasurer and Director General for Financial Affairs.
