Iran condemns terrorist attack on police checkpoint in Pakistan

Esmaeil Baghaei, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a police checkpoint in the city of Tank, located in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. He extended his condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and the Muslim people of neighbouring Pakistan. Reaffirming the Islamic Republic of Iran's principled position of unequivocally condemning all forms of terrorism and extremism, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed that there can be no justification for terrorist or violent acts targeting civilians or security personnel. Baghaei also underscored the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination among regional countries to combat terrorism effectively and on a sustained basis. He called for coordinated action to identify, pursue, and bring to justice the perpetrators, organisers, supporters, and financiers of terrorist acts.
