Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei strongly condemned the criminal acts carried out by Israeli settlers, backed by the occupying regime's army, including attacks on two mosques in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, as well as assaults on Palestinian homes, the beating of residents, and the destruction of their property and farmland. The Foreign Ministry spokesman described these crimes as a continuation of the Israeli regime's colonial genocidal policy in occupied Palestine. Expressing deep regret over the continued silence of international and human rights bodies, he stated that the ongoing inaction of the United Nations and its Security Council in the face of the crimes committed by the racist Israeli regime has emboldened the regime's lawlessness and facilitated the perpetration of the gravest international crimes against Palestinians and other countries in the region. Baghaei also recalled the religious and legal responsibility of Islamic governments and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to support the Palestinian people in their pursuit of the right to self-determination and to stop the Israeli regime's machinery of killing and destruction. He called for concrete action by the mechanisms of the OIC to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque and other religious sites in occupied Palestine from the Israeli regime's continued aggressions, and to bring the perpetrators and masterminds of these crimes to justice.
