Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, held a telephone conversation on Friday afternoon to discuss and consult on key regional developments.   During the call, Iran’s top diplomat briefed his Turkish counterpart on the latest developments related to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s diplomatic efforts and initiatives aimed at a definitive end to the imposed war.   Referring to the recent provocative movements by the United States in the Persian Gulf and certain vulgar and offensive rhetoric by senior US officials, Seyed Abbas Araghchi added that the recent escalatory actions by US forces in the Persian Gulf and their multiple violations of the ceasefire have heightened suspicions regarding the US side’s motives and seriousness in pursuing diplomacy.   Iran’s Foreign Minister characterized the US side’s destructive approach as undermining the diplomatic process and deepening the Iranian nation’s mistrust of US intentions. He stressed that an end to illegal aggressions and the other side’s excessive and unreasonable demands is necessary for advancing the ongoing diplomatic process.   Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s Foreign Minister, in turn, underscored the need to continue diplomatic efforts to end the war and reaffirmed Turkey’s support for the ongoing diplomatic process in this regard.
