Esmail Baghaei, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the Sayyidah Zaynab area of Damascus, which resulted in the martyrdom of "Sayyed Farhan Hassan Al-Mansour," a Muslim scholar and the Friday prayer leader at the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Zeynab (PBUH).
Expressing deep revulsion at this heinous crime, the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson noted that terrorist acts against religious sites and scholars in Syria and the region are part of the sinister conspiracy of the Zionist regime and the United States to incite sedition and cause division among the countries of the region. Therefore, it is essential for all parties to remain vigilant against these conspiracies and fulfill their responsibilities to decisively confront terrorism and extremism.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson extended his condolences to the family of the martyred scholar, as well as to the nation and the community of religious scholars in Syria. He emphasized the need to identify and punish the perpetrators and masterminds of this terrorist crime, as well as the need for collective cooperation among regional countries to uproot terrorism.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson also stressed the responsibility of the Syrian transitional government to ensure the security of the people, scholars, and all ethnic, religious, and denominational groups in the country.
