Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan have held a telephone conversation during which they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.
The two top diplomats welcomed the growing relations between the two countries and underlined the importance of following up on issues of mutual interest.
Referring to recent developments in southern Yemen, Araghchi called on all regional countries to make efforts to preserve Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity and to realize the legitimate demands of the Yemeni people. He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers the solution to the Yemen crisis to be Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue focused on the country’s unity and territorial integrity.
The UAE foreign minister for his part stressed the need to maintain peace and stability in Yemen and the region. He also outlined his country's measures aimed at reducing tensions in Yemen.
The two sides emphasized the need for regional countries to make concerted efforts to strengthen stability in Yemen and safeguard peace in the region.
