Abdulwahid Abu Ras, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen’s Government of Change and Construction, and Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held a telephone conversation during which they exchanged views on the latest developments in Yemen.
Referring to recent developments in the south of the country, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen’s Government of Change and Construction provided a briefing on the latest situation and emphasized that these actions—designed by the enemies of Yemen and the region with the aim of further destabilizing the area—would only further complicate the existing situation.
For his part, Araghchi commended the Yemeni people’s support for the oppressed people of Palestine and their resistance to the aggressions of the Zionist regime.
He underscored the necessity of preserving Yemen’s territorial integrity and national unity.
Araghchi further called upon all Yemeni parties and groups to engage in dialogue and interaction with one another so as to thwart the enemies’ regional plots aimed at weakening and fragmenting Yemen.
Iran’s top diplomat also welcomed the recent agreement between the Yemeni parties and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the exchange of prisoners.
He stressed that the solution to Yemen’s problems lies in the complete lifting of the blockade, the effective implementation of the remaining components of the roadmap, and Yemeni–Yemeni dialogue aimed at the formation of an inclusive government founded upon the preservation of Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity.
