Iranian FM meets Belarusian president in Minsk
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi who is visiting Minsk for talks with senior Belarusian officials met with President Alexander Lukashenko at noon on Monday.
  Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is visiting Minsk for talks with senior Belarusian officials, met with President Alexander Lukashenko at noon on Monday.   During the meeting, President Lukashenko referred to the strong ties between Minsk and Tehran and said his country is ready to expand relations in all areas of mutual interest, particularly in economic and trade sectors.    Araghchi voiced pleasure with the growing bilateral relationship and noted that last week’s Iran-Belarus Joint Economic Commission meeting in Tehran marked an important step toward enhancing economic cooperation. He underscored Iran’s commitment to implementing agreed-upon understandings to further develop collaboration across all areas of mutual interest and to strengthen trade and economic exchanges.   The Iranian foreign minister also outlined Tehran’s stance on regional and international developments and stressed the importance of closer coordination and cooperation between the two countries within international organizations and multilateral frameworks, particularly at the UN, BRICS, and Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to uphold the rule of law and multilateralism globally.
