Iranian FM meets with deputy of Libyas Presidential Council
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi who has traveled to Muscat to participate in the Multilateral Diplomacy and Mediation Forum and to meet with his Omani counterpart met on Monday evening with Deputy of the Libyan Presidential Council Mousa Al-Koani.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who has traveled to Muscat to participate in the Multilateral Diplomacy and Mediation Forum and to meet with his Omani counterpart, met on Monday evening with Deputy of the Libyan Presidential Council Mousa Al-Koani.   During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between Iran and Libya as well as international developments.   The two sides expressed pleasure with the growing trend of Iran–Libya relations and underlined the importance of strengthening ties in all areas of mutual interest.   Referring to the extensive connections between the two countries and the history of good relations between the two nations, Iran’s foreign minister voiced hope that with the stabilization of political and security conditions in Libya, relations between Iran and Libya would expand in all fields.   The deputy of the Libyan Presidential Council for his part appreciated Iran’s principled stance on the need to respect Libya’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stressed the determination of Libya's new leadership to expand relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.   The two sides also discussed the situation of the Islamic world, particularly the issue of occupied Palestine. Araghchi and Koani then highlighted the necessity of greater cooperation and synergy among Islamic countries to stop the genocide of Palestinians and effectively confront the Zionist regime’s acts of aggression against Islamic nations.
