Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqaei has strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s aggressive attack on the Lebanese city of Sidon and the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp, including the targeting of the grounds of a mosque and a sports hall, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of Palestinian refugees.
Baqaei described these brutal attacks as a "flagrant violation" of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law. Referring to the repeated breaches of the November 2025 ceasefire in Lebanon by the Zionist regime, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted that the US is directly responsible for the continuation of this regime’s aggression and crimes against Lebanon and other countries in the region.
He also condemned the complicit silence of the ceasefire guarantors, particularly the US, regarding the occupying regime’s persistent violations and military aggression against Lebanon. Baqaei called for serious action by the UN and the international community to halt Tel Aviv’s crimes and to prosecute the perpetrators.
He further offered condolences to the families of the martyrs of these attacks and wished a swift recovery for the wounded. Baqaei also reaffirmed the full solidarity of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the government, people, and resistance of Lebanon.
