The Islamic Republic of Iran’s newly-designated ambassador to Venezuela Ali Chegini met with Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday ahead of his departure for his mission.   Chegini provided a report on the status of bilateral relations between Tehran and Caracas and outlined a proposed plan to strengthen ties in all areas of mutual interest.    The foreign minister emphasized the importance of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, stressing the need to further enhance and expand cooperation, especially in economic and trade sectors.   Previously, Chegini served as the Director General of the Foreign Ministry’s Resilient Economy Department and as Iran’s ambassador to Cuba and India.
